Prométhéa is an association active for over 30 years in promoting corporate sponsorship for culture and heritage. It promotes exchanges between different players from the world of politics, economics and culture and supports businesses in rolling out their corporate sponsorship and corporate responsibility strategy.
Since 2020, Artone has supported the NAMOSA de Prométhéa collective alongside fifteen other companies and has contributed in this way to the installation of artworks in public spaces in Namur, with the aim of eventually creating an artists trail.
Through its involvement, Artone demonstrates its desire to participate in one of the current social issues: development of all the arts, access for everyone and heritage conservation. Artone is proud to promote creative and original achievements, forming part of a sustainable and progressive society.
In practical terms, each year, the NAMOSA collective launches a call for projects with the Prix Namosa worth €14,000 as the icing on the cake.
This year, the prize winner is “L’empreinte de l’ange”, a collaborative project between the non-profit organisation Patrimoine à Roulettes and the Centre d’Expression de Créativité LST (Lutte, Solidarité, Travail): one of the gable ends of the Place de l’Ange will be covered in gold leaves on which a multitude of fingerprints will be applied. The fingerprint collection is planned to take place this summer at workshops offered to citizens from vulnerable communities. This work seeks to tackle issues relating to memory, forgetfulness, identity and collectivity, wealth and poverty. What’s more, the two associations hope, through this project, to leave tangible traces in public spaces of a creative process highlighting those people to whom insufficient attention is paid. A symbolic reflection on a well-known place in Namur.
The inauguration is set to take place on 17 October 2021.
